Welcome to Fitmio. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website.

TL;DR: We do not sell your personal or health data to advertisers. We only use your data to power the gamified tracking experience.

2. Information We Collect

To provide you with our gamified health tracking services, we collect the following types of information:

  • Account Data: Email address, password (encrypted), and your chosen display name.
  • Physical Characteristics: Age, gender, height, current weight, and target weight to calculate your specific nutritional goals.
  • App Activity: Food logged, water intake, daily streaks, unlocked badges, and friend battle outcomes.

3. Health & Fitness Data Integration

If you are a Premium user and opt-in to device integration, Fitmio requests read-only access to specific health APIs (Apple HealthKit on iOS, Google Health Connect on Android).

  • We strictly request read access for Steps and Active Energy Burned.
  • We do not write data to your native health apps.
  • This data is processed in real-time to calculate your daily 'Active Burn' and 'Step' battle points.

HealthKit and Health Connect data is NEVER used for marketing, advertising, or sold to third-party data brokers.

4. How We Use Your Information

The data we collect is utilized strictly to provide and improve the Fitmio experience:

  • To calculate your personalized Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) and macro goals.
  • To operate the multiplayer logic, matching your daily progress against your friends in 7-day battles.
  • To award XP, increase streaks, and unlock achievement badges.

5. Information Sharing and Disclosure

Your privacy is paramount. We do not sell your personal data. We only share data in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We use Supabase (a secure backend-as-a-service) to host our database and handle secure user authentication.
  • Public Profiles: Users on your approved friends list can see your Avatar, Display Name, Current Streak, and Unlocked Badges. They CANNOT see your specific weight or daily caloric intake.

6. Data Security

We implement robust, industry-standard security measures. Our database utilizes Row Level Security (RLS) policies, meaning your personal log data can only be accessed by your securely authenticated user token. Passwords are cryptographically hashed and never stored in plain text.

7. Your Data Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR in Europe, KVKK in Turkey), you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Delete Your Account: You can completely and permanently delete your account and all associated data directly from the App Settings menu.
